With international duty well under way, there were three Chelsea Ladies in the England senior women's team who thumped Czech Republic 5-1 on Sunday.

It was an impressive second-half comeback as Czech Republic had taken the lead in the 28th minute through Katerina Doskova.

Casey Stoney, Anita Asante and Lianne Sanderson all started the game inside the Dolicek Stadium in Prague, while Eniola Aluko joined Siobhan Chamberlain and Danni Buet on the bench.

England's five goals came from second-half strikes by substitute Emily Westwood, Karen Carney and Jill Scott, who all added to Kelly Smith's double.

Westwood came on for Sanderson in the 46th minute, 15 minutes before she found England's equaliser after Czech Republic's opening goal in the first half.

The senior team will now travel to Spain as they prepare to face the Spanish women's side tonight (Thursday) in the final game of Group One's European Championship qualifications, with Sunday's win against Czech Republic putting England three points clear at the top.

In the Under 19 action last Thursday, Chelsea had two representatives in the team who beat Slovenia 3-0.

Jodie Jacobs lined-up in defence while Rebecca Jane replaced Sunderland's Lucy Staniforth in the 80th minute.

Leeds' Jade Moore scored twice in the first half before Everton's Jessica Holbrook found England's third only seconds before the break.

The Under 19s then faced Scotland in Slovenia on Tuesday evening, rounding off England's recent success with a 5-2 thrashing of our northern neighbours.

Jane built on first half goals from Jordan Nobbs, Jess Holbrook and Michelle Hinnigan with a second half strike before Steph Marsh finalised the win with a goal in the dying minutes of the game.

The result concluded the Under 19s' fixtures in the first qualifying round of the European Championships, meaning England have progressed to the next round which takes place between 23-28 April 2009. The final tournament group stage will then occur in July.

So the Ladies will return to Chelsea action this Sunday as they host Leeds Carnegie in the League Cup, the side who expelled the Blues from the competition last season.

But Leeds currently find themselves eighth in the table, with two wins from seven games and a total of eight points. Compare that to Chelsea's 16 points from six games and the Blues have to be favourites on Sunday at Imber Court.

But the League Cup is not the league, and there will be no room for complacency, especially when you consider the history between the two teams.

'The team remembers last year very well and will certainly have the loss in mind this weekend,' said Lorrie Fair, assistant ladies coach.

'With that said, we've had most of our team away the past two weeks on international duty with both the full and youth team.

'So we will have to arrive at the stadium on Sunday mentally prepared for an extremely tough match.

'It's a wonderful opportunity for us to play the very team that knocked us out last year, but more importantly a chance to take another step towards the cup final,' added Fair.
