YOUNG BLUES ACROSS EUROPE
Michael Woods (pictured) played his third full game in England Under 19s' successful qualifying tournament although this time the match ended in defeat.
The Chelsea reserve team midfielder was in action against Serbia in Northern Ireland on Monday night but although England went down 4-1, both teams had already qualified for the next qualification stage having won their first two games.
England will now progress to the Elite Qualifying Round, which will take place next year. Seven groups of four nations will contest for the seven places available at next summer's finals in the Ukraine.
Woods's action follows on from Under 19 defeat for Denmark on Sunday with Chelsea's reserve team striker Morten Nielsen scoring a penalty equaliser. However the Danes slipped to a late-goal defeat to France, despite a performance that pleased their coach.
The Dutch Under 19s complete their qualifiaction group tonight with a game against Germany, having added a 3-2 win over Luxembourg to their win over Lithuania - although Chelsea defender Jeffrey Bruma will not be in action having picked up a harsh second yellow card late on in the Luxembourg game.
Tonight, England and Wales Under 21s will decide their play-off for the European Championships for their age group, England taking a 3-2 lead into the 7.45pm kick-off at Villa Park.
Michael Mancienne played the first game with Ryan Bertrand, Jack Cork and for Wales, Rhys Taylor on the bench.
Fabio Paim is in the squad for Portugal Under 21s as they meet Ukraine tonight.
