Chelsea fans have voted John Mikel Obi as their Etihad Player of the Month for December.

The 21-year-old started all six games during December and helped to maintain the Blues' unbeaten record away from home, including a 2-0 victory over Bolton.

Mikel has been a crucial anchor in the side with several impressive displays in the holding role, making himself irreplaceable while Michael Essien recovers from a knee injury.

It was also Mikel who intervened to deny Cadu in the 16th minute against Cluj at Stamford Bridge, helping to ensure a 2-1 win over our Champions League rivals and a place in the knockout stages.
