The major update comes from abroad, after Claudio Pizarro's double in the Uefa Cup on Thursday was enough to eliminate AC Milan.
The 29-year-old Peruvian, on loan at Werder Bremen for the entire campaign, continued his prolific form for the German side as he scored two second half headers in the San Siro to knock out Carlo Ancelotti's team.
Andriy Shevchenko was a sub for the Italians on the hour mark, before Pizarro's strikes sent Bremen into the last 16 and a date with St. Etienne.
Pizarro has also netted 11 times in the Bundesliga from just 15 starts, most recently in the 1-1 draw with Borussia Monchengladbach on February 14.
Heading back towards Britain but remaining in continental Europe, Ben Sahar added a second goal to his De Graafschap career on Saturday, but was still on the losing side as they went down 3-1 to Roda JC. It leaves them second bottom of the Dutch Eredivisie heading into the final straight.
Returning to England and the Championship, Scott Sinclair has been a regular starter for Birmingham City over the past two months. They sit second in the table behind Wolves but have not won in three games.
Lee Sawyer has returned from Saturday's FA Cup opponents Coventry City without adding to his two appearances, while Jack Cork and Ryan Bertrand continue their fights for Championship survival with Watford and Norwich City respectively.
Cork, who was ineligible to face us in the fifth round of the Cup, has seen the Hornets, under manager Brendan Rodgers win their last three league games. The Chelsea youngster has been ever-present.
Those results have taken Watford to 17th, and five points clear of the relegation zone. Norwich and Bertrand are 23rd, four points from safety.
Injury at the start of February, which prevented him from linking up with England Under 21s, means Bertrand has not featured since, as the Canaries have slumped to seven games without victory.
In League One, Shaun Cummings is still to feature since January as an ankle injury prevented him from helping Roberto Di Matteo's recently, though he has now returned to fitness.
The Italian and Chelsea legend yesterday conceded that it would be very difficult to catch league leaders Leicester City, but automatic promotion remains a possibility. Carl Magnay has returned to Stamford Bridge after his one-month deal expired. He made two late substitute appearances for the Buckinghamshire club.
Finally, Fabio Ferreira joined Oldham Athletic on a temporary deal late last month, but is still to make his debut.
