Didier Drogba declared he's feeling '100 per cent' following an impressive performance at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday.

Three goals from four games has doubled Drogba's tally for the season, but he insists there will be more to come as he continues to play.

'Thank god I feel 100 per cent physically. Now I have to work a little bit more to improve my chances in scoring goals in games,' said Drogba.

Returning to form has secured Drogba five starts in a row and Chelsea five wins, proving our Ivorian's influence in the side. He's scoring goals once more in a season that's seen our number 11 out with injury, but he was back to his best on Saturday.

Applying pressure, Drogba snatched the ball from a one-on-one with Coventry captain Scott Dann following a misjudged Ben Turner header; he then rounded a sliding Keiren Westwood before smashing a left-footed shot into the net from a tight angle, 1-0 Chelsea.

'It is good when you score goals, your confidence gets higher,' explained Drogba: 'I'm feeling good and it is important to get games, because the more you play the more you score.

'I was out from injury and then when I came back it was really difficult for me, but that's football.

'When things are going well nobody speaks but when you have some bad or difficult moments everybody is asking why, this is football.

'I work and work. When you work and want to improve something good will happen to you. I kept working hard and scoring and now people will forget the last few months.'

This time last year, the Blues were out of the FA Cup courtesy of a Barnsley win, and another Championship opponent in this round made the travelling Chelsea side a wary one, and rightly so.

'It was a really difficult Cup game and it is important to win these games.

'It's a good result because we are a little bit scared; the defeat against Barnsley from last season was still in our heads.

'So we did everything to score quick and I'm really happy to score this goal, then we scored in the second half and now we are going to the semi final, it feels great.

'This competition is really important for us, we want to go to the final and do something great for the fans. We are improving game after game.'

With a win secured, there was one more thing to celebrate this weekend, as Michael Essien returned to first team action following six months on the sideline.

'We have missed him a lot and we are really happy to have him back in the team and to come on the pitch as well, I am really happy for him.

'I have been out for a while and I know how it feels. He can make a big impact. He has to play to feel the games and the pressure of the games and improve physically and technically, so he needs time,' added Drogba.
