FROM BOLLYWOOD TO THE BRIDGE
Indian movie star and Chelsea fan Abhishek Bachchan was at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening, and like many, left with a sense of injustice.
Abhishek, the star in a number of leading Bollywood films, has even played a Chelsea fanatic in a previous movie role, and has been a fan of the club since 2003. He flew into London especially for the midweek Champions League semi-final tie against Barcelona.
'We just got cheated I think, I saw the playbacks and there were three penalties, that's just wrong,' he complained afterwards.
'The atmosphere tonight was good, but it's a shame that the stadium can't be completely full for Champions League games though. Some of the Barcelona team were sat in front of us, which wasn't ideal,' he added.
It is a busy time for the 33-year-old actor, who is married to a former Miss World, as he is filming two movies back in India, but he still found time for Chelsea.
'I am filming two Hindi films at the moment, and trying to bring the word of Chelsea back home,' he added. 'I already have a bit in 2006, when I played a Chelsea fan. That was my first trip to the Bridge and they gave me a shirt then too.'
'This is my seventh trip, I only flew into London for the game, and I fly back to India tomorrow. Back home thankfully the Premier League is covered extensively on television so I can keep up,' he smiled.
Asked which his favourite memory from the Bridge was, Abhishek pondered for a moment before highlighting our previous European home game.
'I have been a few times, but I think the highlight was the last game with Liverpool in the Champions League, I was sat just above the dugouts and it was fantastic, the best game I saw in my life.
'The atmosphere was so charged and I really enjoyed the game, 4-4, a brilliant game of football.'
Abhishek Bachchan is hoping to be back in London next month to promote the release of Paa, the newest of his releases. By then he could also be cheering a Chelsea FA Cup victory.
