TIME RUNNING OUT TO BOOK ON WEE PAT'S TOUR
Just a few places remain on Pat Nevin's Legends Tour of Stamford Bridge this Sunday as our former Player of the Year prepares to wind back the clock quarter-of-a-century.
Chelsea Football Club was a very different place when a young unknown winger first made his way down from Glasgow. For a start we had nearly been relegated to Division Three and were more used to bringing in players from Wrexham and Darlington than from Bayern Munich and Barcelona as in recent times.
But Pat was part of a wonderful revival of the Blues, playing in promotion seasons and high-flying First Division campaigns, sharing the dressing room with some of the biggest characters in our history.
He has plenty of stories to tell, from his own hunger to entertain, to manager John Neal's wisdom and what went wrong when that was lost, to the madness of the likes of Mickey Thomas and Joey Jones - and some of the haircuts explained.
In later life Pat has been a football club chief executive, a media pundit and commentator and also holds the esteemed position of Chelseafc.com columnist.
He has never wavered in his love for the Blues and the fans that welcomed him so warmly to west London, and he will be guiding supporters around the stadium on Fathers' Day this weekend.
Tickets are £75 per person. Please call 0871 984 1955 during office hours to book or for more information.
