CHELSEA SUPPORTING LOCAL FESTIVAL
Chelsea Football Club has again put our support behind this year's Earls Court Festival.
The 2009 event programme, which will launch on June 21, has doubled in size this year with a full range of free or low cost cultural events for all the family, just up the road from Stamford Bridge.
Sunday's launch will welcome a range of live music, street performers, stall-traders, food and flavours from around the world on a pedestrianised Hogarth Road and events will continue until 19 July.
Chelsea's Paul Canoville will also be guest of honour at a special question and answer session on his award-winning autobiography Black and Blue on 16 July at the Harrington Hall Hotel in Gloucester Road starting at 7.30pm.
Festival director and long time Earl's Court resident Malcolm Connell says: 'I am very pleased that this year the Earl's Court Community - event organisers, sponsors and festival office volunteers - has created a month long menu of events that meets the needs of a wider spectrum of residents and those who work or visit the area.
'The festival is on the up and up. 2010 will be another step change for us with the overall aim of producing a memorable event to tie-in with Olympics year, 2012.'
ECCF exists to develop community spirit and involvement across the area and across all communities that living there. For full event details, location etc, click here.
