Comedian and actor Will Ferrell was on hand to lead us as honorary captain against Inter on Tuesday, sporting his now famous Chelsea shirt.

The Anchorman and Step Brothers star was at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena alongside John Terry as he took part in the coin toss ahead of Tuesday evening's match.

The 42-year-old comic first appeared in a Chelsea shirt on The Daily Show last year, and he is a big fan of football having graduated with a degree in sports information.

'This is the same one as The Daily Show, it's vintage now but I have a new one already,' he told chelseafc.com.

'Chelsea have just reached out to me a couple of times and, I can't say that I only follow Chelsea, I try to keep an eye on all the team in the Premiership and I love soccer in general.

I'm a big sports fan as a whole, and was a sports journalist, a very, very good sports journalist.'

Watching Ash in action

We do not doubt the quality of Will's journalism, particularly having seen him play Ron Burgundy so well in Anchorman, and he seems quite the judge of a player.

'I love Frank Lampard, he's one of the toughest guys of all time. I went to a match against Barcelona two or three years ago and the atmosphere was just fantastic, there is nothing like that here, so it was really fun to watch.'

Having seen us stay classy and triumph 2-0 over Inter thanks to goals from Didier Drogba and Lamps, we think Ferrell could be edging a little closer to being a True Blue.
