Wednesday sees Chelsea resume their Carling Cup campaign when Gary Megson's Bolton Wanderers travel to the capital.

The match may give some players the chance to stake a claim for more first-team football in the coming months. After dispatching local rivals QPR in the last round, Carlo Ancelotti will look to this fixture as the ideal chance to rotate his squad and give some players an opportunity to shine.

The Blues' league form has been consistent and, if the manner of Saturday's victory against Blackburn is anything to go by, Bolton have quite a task on their hands if they have serious aspirations of progressing to the next round of the Cup.

Bolton had a good result at home against Everton at the weekend. They had to rely on a late winner from Croation striker Ivan Klasnic but were good value for their first home win since April. He will be a threat to Chelsea's hopes of a clean sheet if the ball falls to him in the penalty area.

Whilst the match is not a foregone conclusion, there is much to be positive about in the Blues' camp. After successive wins in which they have scored nine goals and conceded none, there's every chance that they will put a few past Bolton and claim their place in the next round.

Chelsea's midfield has been especially strong this season. Frank Lampard is back on the goal trail and Michael Ballack, Florent Malouda and Michael Essien have all found the net in recent matches.

With goals being scored by players across the team, a price of 6.00 for a Chelsea 2-0 win is a decent bet.
