Comment Carvalho, Ivanovic and Ferreira are on the bench despite midweek internationals but Anelka, who played 120 minutes for France, starts. Lampard, Ballack, Deco and Drogba are out injured. John Terry overtakes Dennis Wise to move onto 299 games as captain, the second highest total in our history. In the warm-up the players wear t-shirts to mark the launch of Drogba's charity foundation. Chelsea simply outclass Wolves from the start to the finish and the 3-0 half-time lead allows Ancelotti the chance to rest Anelka's legs, as well as blood 18-year-old Kakuta and 21-year-old Matic. Kakuta shows plenty to whet the appetite Essien scores two goals for the first time in a Chelsea match and Joe Cole his first goal for 13 months. A 12th successive victory at Stamford Bridge in all competitions is a new club record. With Arsenal losing at Sunderland, it has been a very good day.
