WOMEN’S WEEKLY
There have been five Chelsea Ladies named in England's senior squad for tonight's World Cup-qualifying clash with Turkey.
Chelsea captain Casey Stoney (pictured) is joined by goalkeeper Siobhan Chamberlain, midfielder Danni Buet and strikers Lianne Sanderson and Dunia Susi.
With Everton's Rachel Brown missing through injury, Chamberlain is expected to be first-choice keeper while Sanderson and Susi's recent run of form should see them make an appearance, as former Chelsea striker Eniola Aluko is unavailable for the game.
All five Chelsea players headed off for international duty following a disappointing weekend fixture against Doncaster Rovers.
While Arsenal were losing 2-1 away to Sunderland, giving the Blues a brilliant opportunity to pull back the three points they took a few weeks ago, Chelsea were unfortunately conceding two in our own weekend fixture.
Doncaster scored twice in the first half with no return, resulting in a 2-0 triumph, although the Ladies have maintained the top place in the League thanks to Sunderland's win.
The only other teams to play this weekend were Everton and Bristol, with the Toffees completing a 3-0 win following our encounter the previous week, which ended 5-3 in our favour.
That win takes them to seventh in the table, with 15 points from six games, while Arsenal are still third after accumulating 18 points from seven games.
Sunderland Ladies' 13 games have resulted in 22 points, the same amount the Blues have gained from 10 games.
Despite tonight's international action, the Ladies will be back to domestic football on the weekend when we travel to the Arsenal-beating Sunderland.
The Ladies have already beaten the side 3-1 at home this season but let's not forget this is the same team who knocked us out of the FA Cup last season following a semi-final clash inside the Stadium of Light.
The Black Cats will also be brimming with confidence after beating the Gunners, the side they went on to face in last season's FA Cup final, and are notoriously tough to play on home soil.
But if we are to continue our hold at the top of the League, then a win is a must, as Arsenal host fifth-place Millwall.
Elsewhere, Everton will travel to Watford, Blackburn to Nottingham and Bristol to Leeds, while Doncaster host Birmingham.
