John Terry has sent out a personal message to the fans on Chelsea TV, thanking them for their support over the last two weeks.

The centre-half and Chelsea skipper has been under intense pressure from the media over the last fortnight, culminating in the loss of the England captaincy on Friday, but turned in an excellent performance against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Sunday to help set up a memorable 2-0 win.

After the game the 29-year-old was given a standing ovation by the capacity crowd, and was eager to show his gratitude.

'On a personal note I'd like to thank every single fan today, it's a really emotional day for myself and the way the fans have been with me for the last two weeks, honestly it's incredible, I didn't expect that today,' he told the club's official channel.

'I go away full of delight today and I'd like to thank every single fan for the way they treated me. On a second note, as the manager said, we needed to defend well and I thought big Pete was brilliant. He came for crosses, made a great save from Bendtner in the second half and just scooped it away.

' Ash was brilliant, Riccy, Iva brilliant, really solid, but then going forward we were great and caught them a few times on the counter-attack, so overall a great performance and I mean it from my heart, I'd like to thank everyone for today, thank you.'

Tickets for Wednesday's game at Everton are now ONLY on sale in person at the box office until Tuesday at 12 noon.
