Chelsea Ladies are through to the FA Cup semi-finals thanks to a closely contested weekend win over Aston Villa.

That means the Ladies will face Cup holders Arsenal in the semi-final clash, set to take place on Sunday 4 April at Staines Football Club.

This is the second time in two years Chelsea have reached the semi-finals of the competition, after our match with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in the same round last season.

The Black Cats ran out victorious in that meeting, booking their place in the final alongside the Gunners, who eventually won 2-1 thanks to goals from Katie Chapman and Kim Little.

It's was the north London outfit's ninth win in the tournament, and their fourth consecutive victory in the FA Cup Final. In fact, Arsenal have won the Cup six times since 2000 alone.

The other semi-final will pit Everton against Barnet, who secured a shock 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest at the weekend.

Holly Sandow hit both the opening and winning goals of the game, as the hosts took the lead three times.

After Sandow's opener in the 20th minute, it took Forest until the hour mark to equalise through Laura Coombs but only another 10 minutes for Barnet to retake the lead.

That was through a Clare Thomas strike, which was cancelled out by a Gemma Rudman own-goal two minutes later. But the visitors failed to comeback a third time after Sandow's second goal in the 77th minute.

That means Barnet now travel to face Everton on Sunday 14 March in their quest to reach the competition's final.

In the League this weekend, Arsenal beat our weekend opponents Blackburn 4-1. Goals from Gemma Davison, Danielle Carter and Jayne Ludlow were added to by a Rhiannan Roberts own-goal to make it four.

Leeds hosted Bristol Academy for a 4-0 victory. It took only 13 minutes for Leeds to break through the visitor's defence, when they won a penalty converted by Sue Smith.

Within 60 seconds of the opener, it was 2-0. This time it was Rachel Daley adding her name to the score sheet before Carla Cantrell netted twice to finish the scoring.

Everton travelled to Watford for the weekend's second 4-0 victory. Gwennan Harries' brace helped the Toffees to a comfortable win, as she scored at both ends. Natasha Dowie and Jill Scott were the other scorers.

The final game of the weekend was a 1-0 home win for Birmingham over Millwall, with Isabel Christensen scoring the only goal of the game.

Chelsea's next game takes place at 7.45pm tonight, when we host Watford at home in the League, a side we've already thumped 7-0 this campaign.
