Off the back of his best season here, Didier Drogba is already looking to the future at the club where he wants to end his career.

The 32-year-old has already notched 36 times in a record-breaking season, and with a Wembley date against Portsmouth still to come, Drogba is hoping to finish with a flourish and secure the Double in a stadium where he has made a habit of scoring important goals.

'That pitch brings me a lot of luck!' said the Barclays Premier League Golden Boot winner. 'It is something we really want to achieve, it won't be easy because Portsmouth have been focused and it will be a happy ending for them after their season, but this next week is so important for us.

'I want to finish the job with the FA Cup Final. To win the Double means a lot for the club, and for us [players].'

Speaking on his own season, Drogba believes it has been his best yet, and even though his advancing years suggest otherwise, the Ivorian insists he is still improving.

'This is the best season of my career, my third season here I scored 33 goals, and 20 goals in the league, this one I scored 29 in the league, it's amazing and I feel that season after season I am getting better,' he said.

'I keep working, I am not Messi or Ronaldo but I have my qualities and I work on them, trying to improve my weaknesses. When I start a season I always want to do better than the last one, it will be difficult next season but I think it is possible.'

Our Premier League success follows three years of Manchester United victories, and Drogba admits this one feels extra special.

'When you win the league you have to appreciate it because you never know when you will win it again. When we won it twice we didn't think we would wait so long, so if we have the chance next season we have to do it.

'I appreciate every moment when I play, and my relationship with the fans and the team is something unbelievable.

'We have been together a long time, this is the first time I stayed six years in a squad, and I feel at home. I want to finish here and I hope it will happen.'
