FA CUP FINAL TRAVEL NEWS
Anyone heading to Wembley for this weekend's FA Cup Final may appreciate the following information.
If you're planning to get to Wembley via London Underground services then be aware the District Line will be closed between Earls Court, Richmond, Kensington Olympia and Ealing Broadway.
There will be no service between Liverpool Street and Leytonstone on the Central Line.
The Piccadilly Line will have no service between Hammersmith, Northfields and Ealing Common and also between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge.
Anyone using National Rail services should note First Capital Connect will have no trains crossing central London. Trains will still run to/from London Bridge (from the south) and to/from St Pancras International (from the north).
Chelsea fans travelling by public transport to Wembley Stadium are reminded the nearest London Underground stations to Wembley Stadium are Wembley Park (Jubilee Line and Metropolitan Line) and Wembley Central (Bakerloo Line).
Both stations are in London Underground Zone 4. If you intend to buy a joint train and tube ticket please ensure you ask for one which includes Zones 1-4. This will save you time and money on both your forward and return travel. Tickets valid in Zones 1 and 2 only will not be valid for entry/exit at stations near Wembley Stadium.
Fans are advised not to drive to Wembley, as the venue was designed to be reached by public transport.
There is a Park and Ride service fans can utilise, which means making the final part of your journey via public transport.
Park and Ride facilities are available at the following Chelsea Railways Stations north of Wembley: Warwick Parkway (CV35 8RH), Banbury (OX16 5AB), Bicester North (OX26 6EF), High Wycombe (HP13 6NN) and Beaconsfield (HP9 2PJ).
Fans are also reminded of Chelsea's Liftshare Scheme, which enables drivers with space in their car to give fellow fans a lift to the game.
