Chelsea are still in with a chance of finishing second in the Women's Premier League, which will secure the Ladies a Champions League place.

The Ladies are currently in fourth, one point behind both third-place Leeds and second-place Everton.

If we win our one remaining fixture against Nottingham Forest this Sunday, that away clash could seal second place if Everton lose their game against Blackburn, which is also away from home.

Leeds have now played their full quota of games, so should both Chelsea and Everton win, we will still finish third, the same position as last season.

Arsenal have been crowned champions of the 2009/10 Women's Premier League after accumulating 58 points from 21 games, while Everton sit in second with 47 points from the same amount of fixtures. We are currently fourth with 46 points from 21 games.

Below us it seems Sunderland are set to finish fifth with 37 points, having played their 22 games, while behind them is Doncaster, who have also played their full quota and amounted 34 points.

Blackburn are in seventh place with 21 points, although they do still have two games to play, while behind them sit Millwall, who finish their first season in the Women's Premier League with 21 points.

The final four are made up of Watford in ninth with 17 points, Birmingham in 10th with 16 points, Nottingham in 11th with 13 and Bristol in last place with 10.

Birmingham still have two games to play, meaning they could potentially finish sixth, a massive jump if they win their remaining two fixtures.

Nottingham obviously have another game left as well, when they host Chelsea this Sunday, but even if they win they'll still finish 11th as Birmingham have a much greater goal difference.

Champions League football would be a fantastic achievement for the Ladies. This season Everton and Arsenal represented the Women's Premier League in Europe, although Everton didn't progress very far in the competition.

Arsenal faired slightly better but overall both English sides failed to set Europe alight.

There will be a full match report on the club's Official Website once the result between Nottingham and Chelsea has been decided.
