TERRY: STILL IN IT
John Terry is convinced we can turn the Champions League quarter-final tie around at Old Trafford, despite Wednesday's 1-0 home defeat.
The captain admitted he was disappointed with our performance as well as the result, but takes comfort that we are only at the halfway stage of the tie.
'I can 100 percent see us turning the tie around,' said the 30-year-old after the game. 'We're obviously frustrated with losing the game. The manager stressed to the players after that it's half-time and we're still right in the tie.
'It's disappointing with us being at home tonight, we'd have maybe expected a little bit more, but we're certainly still in the tie. We've got the quality as we showed last year to go up there and win the tie. They know we're in it, and we certainly do.'
Like the rest of Stamford Bridge, Terry was convinced we should have had a penalty in injury time when Ramires went down under a challenge from Patrice Evra inside the Manchester United penalty area.
'Even from 50, 60 yards away I could see Rami get the first touch,' said Terry. 'After the game we watched it on the video like everybody else, and the most frustrating thing for the players is we can't come out there and be honest about it because we face possible bans.
'We've seen players receiving bans left, right and centre for speaking honestly after games, the players can't be honest and everyone's walking on eggshells so unfortunately I'd rather not talk about that, but it was a clear penalty.'
We must now focus on the capture of the Premier League points on Saturday, but have the bonus of a near fully fit squad.
'We've got Wigan at home at the weekend, we're still in the title race, we're many points away but we've got one of the strongest squads in the league, everyone is fit apart from Alex at the moment, who's just match sharpness away, and we can get everyone involved then at this key part of the season,' Terry said.
With less than a week until the second leg, squad rotation could play a major role on Saturday.
Next week's second leg is being beamed back to Stamford Bridge, so if you don't have a ticket to Old Trafford, you can still be part of the excitement...
