ALEX JOINS IN
New signing Alex trained with the rest of the squad at Cobham for the first time today, following his arrival at Chelsea on Friday.
The 6ft 2in defender joined those players who did not start against Birmingham yesterday in some small-sided games and despite his lack of English, looked comfortable in his new surroundings.
The 25-year-old arrives from Dutch champions PSV where he has spent the past three years since leaving his first club Santos in Brazil.
The players who started yesterday's game undertook a light workout, warming down and stretching before taking part in some football tennis.
There was good news as the likes of Didier Drogba, Paulo Ferreira and Claude Makelele trained the whole session as they continue working towards full fitness, and John Terry was also able to play a small part in the session.
He's joined in training and our online betting partners Paddy Power already have Alex in their goalscoring odds for Wednesday night's game against Reading. They list the Brazilian as 25/1 to score the first on what would be his debut.
