All the talk after Wednesday's win against Derby was about Frank Lampard, and Avram Grant expects the midfielder to be a key Chelsea player for years to come.

Lampard's four goals tonight took him to equal seventh in the Chelsea scoring charts, level with George Hilsdon on 107 goals, and Grant paid tribute to his man after the game.

'I think Frank has been very good. He got injured, and sometimes we need to protect him because sometimes he feels something but he's having a good season,' Grant said. 'He has scored more than 100 goals and I think he will get to 150? this season!'

That may be a tall order, but with 17 goals to his name already this campaign, Lampard is enjoying a successful season, despite missing more than two months through injury.

'Frank is very important for the team when he is playing, he can always score and he makes defence. What can I say that I didn't say about him?' Grant added.

With regard to the midfielder's contract situation, Grant also found time to comment. The message was simple, that Lampard can enjoy a bright future at the club.

'The situation didn't change, I know you ask me every three or four weeks but the club wants Frank, Frank wants to stay so nothing has changed,' stressed the Israeli.

'I will not tell you about my programme but we plan something for next season and I can tell you Frank will stay at Chelsea, I am almost sure about it, but when I speak with the players it is between me and the players.'

As far as tonight was concerned, it was a job well done, and Grant has urged his side to continue their impressive league form, which has seen us score 10 goals in our past two games.

'We know we need to continue, in the league so far we made a good job, in the Champions League we made a good job, these are the major trophies. We are disappointed from one thing but happy from other things so we need to continue,' stressed Grant.

'I think we need to continue winning and playing because I think we won more than 80 percent of league games since I came. It is enough to be close to first and second place and maybe the right time to be there, but we need to continue to play like we did in the last league games and continue winning.

'Then, who knows? Anything can happen but I can tell you we will fight until the end. I never give in and I will not stop now.'
