Comment For the second game running, the two leading scorers Drogba and Lampard are unavailable. Ballack also remains in London but Carvalho and Joe Cole are restored to the starting line-up, as are full-backs Ferreira and Ashley Cole plus Wright-Phillips, on this occasion in midfield. The game rarely looks like catching alight but it is a composed win for the Blues, making it 20 unbeaten against Everton. Essien's goal, his sixth of the season, takes us to within two points of Man United. They have four to play, Chelsea three.
