As the Championship drew to a close yesterday, it was an exciting day for the Chelsea players out on loan with clubs in that division, with several youngsters enjoying a day to remember.

Scott Sinclair helped Crystal Palace wrap up the final Championship playoff spot with a resounding 5-0 win over Burnley at Selhurst Park.

The Chelsea winger was a candidate for man of the match, scoring his side's fourth goal with a wonderful solo effort, reminiscent of his goal for Plymouth in last season's FA Cup.

In addition, Sinclair won a penalty for Palace's first goal, and laid on the second for team-mate Victor Moses.

Palace now meet Bristol City in the playoff semi-finals, with the first leg this coming Saturday.

Already relegated, Jack Cork's Scunthorpe met Colchester in their final games of the season, and played out a thrilling 3-3 draw. They will meet again in League One next season.

Cork, who was substituted on 88 minutes, received a standing ovation from the Glanford Park crowd as he departed the pitch, appreciation for what has been a superb season for the Chelsea youngster. This week he picked up four Scunthorpe Supporters' Player of the Year awards.

Ben Sahar got himself on the score sheet for Sheffield Wednesday, as they won 4-1 against Norwich to guarantee survival. He is pictured celebrating his strike.

The second Owls goal of the afternoon, Sahar's was the strike that guaranteed Wednesday's survival in the Championship, at the expense of Harry Worley's Leicester City.

Sahar scored three games in 12 appearances for the Hillsborough side.

On the other side against Wednesday was Ryan Bertrand, who will now return to Stamford Bridge after a successful spell with Norwich. Since signing in January, the left-back played 20 games for the Carrow Road club.

Michael Mancienne played at centre-half as his QPR side were defeated 2-0 at home by West Brom, which sees them crowned as Championship champions. It has been another impressive season for the defender, who has broken into the England under-21 setup, and he played 31 times for our west London neighbours in 2007/8.
