Gaël Kakuta, Chelsea Academy's France Under 17 international, was involved in another exciting game as the European Championships for his age group continue in Turkey.

France drew 3-3 with Spain in their second group game, an encounter full of high pace and high quality football with France coach Francis Smerecki comparing it to a Champions League game afterwards.

Kakuta (pictured) began the match operating on the right and his quickly-taken free-kick began the move that lead to the game's opener.

Spain drew level before the break but with Chelsea's 16-year-old on the left in the second-half, France went 3-2 up. Kakuta might have extended the lead with a couple of shots from distance but from a free-kick, Spain equalised for the third time.

The match followed on from a late win over the Republic of Ireland in France's opening game. In their second match, the Ireland side again fielded Chelsea schoolboy Conor Clifford in midfield but went down 1-0 to Switzerland due to an own-goal. They are now eliminated.

France are level on four points with Spain at the top of the group with eventual first two going through to the semi-finals.

The French are next in action on Saturday against the Swiss with a 6pm kick-off. Ireland play Spain at the same time.
