Ashley Cole believes Manchester United will have to fight for their points against a tough Wigan side on Sunday.

The left-back exclusively told Chelsea's official television channel that Wigan have the determination to secure a draw, and possibly even a win, at the JJB Stadium this weekend.

'Wigan got a draw at our place in the final minute, so anything can be done in football - we just have to stay positive and think we can get the right result,' said Cole, in the interview that is now on Chelsea Plus.

'Wigan can give them a tough test, so if we win our game on Sunday and so do Man U, we will have to hold our hands up and say they won it fair and square.'

Cole believes the Blues can win our game to keep the pressure on Manchester United until the very last minute of the title race.

Chelsea beat Bolton 1-0 when we travelled to the Reebok Stadium last October, thanks to some clever football from Salomon Kalou to secure the first half goal.

But, regardless of Bolton's current league position, Cole understands Sunday's game will not be an easy win.

'Bolton will be coming to the Bridge looking to win, whether they are safe or not.

'As players they will just want to go out, get the three points and get a result.

'We know how they play, it is going to be a tough game with Kevin Davies playing and [El-Hadji] Diouf, but we will be so focused and determined to beat them.'

However, Cole understands that although the Blues have the desire and determination to take three points at Stamford Bridge, he will still be hoping Manchester United drop points against their northwest rivals as a win would seal the title for the Red Devils on goal difference.

'If we win it is still not in our hands and it is down to what they do,' said Cole.

'But as a player you have to have a positive mind about everything.

'We have to win our game, because it would be disappointing if Man U did get a draw and then we got a draw, so we will be going out there on Sunday looking to win the game and just hoping that Man U slip-up.

'We have to just be strong mentally because it would be a killer if Man U got a draw [and Chelsea didn't win], it would hurt,' explained Cole.
