It's the big one! - and although there is no chance that tipster Kerry Dixon can overhaul bookie Paddy Power in their season-long betting challenge, he will still take pleasure from coming out on top from the game the world is watching.

All campaign long the two have been placing free £50 charity bets on Chelsea games with the winner to hand his kitty over to CLIC Sargent.

Approaching the finishing line, Kerry has earned £858 but Paddy is dipping for the tape with £1475 to his name.

'Well I have the admit the bookie has done me this time, here's to next year,' Kerry says, 'but before we end I am determined to win this one and I'm sure no-one reading expects me to go for anything other than a Chelsea win tonight.

'But that is my head as well as my heart talking. In the big games between these two clubs when the pressure is on in recent years, Chelsea have tended to come out on top - and I truly believe we are fresher as a squad.

'But I still think it will be close. We've had the odd win by two or three goals but generally there is only one in it so all my money this time is split between a Chelsea 1-0 win and a 2-1 win. Come on you Blues!'

'I can't wait for tonight and I don't support either of the teams. I can't imagine what it must be like for Chelsea fans. I'm actually going to be in the Blues bar at Stamford Bridge for the game and rumour has it I'm getting the beers in at half-time so if you don't have somewhere to watch it yet, get yourself down to Blues and I'll buy you a pint.

'So what am I going to do with my charity bet this week? I'll tell you I'm backing Chelsea that's for sure. They finished the season in great form and I'm hoping that United may have peaked too soon. So I'm going to put £20 on Chelsea winning this in 90 minutes at 15/8.

'I'm also going to have another £10 on Herr Ballack scoring the first goal, after his brace against United at the Bridge, I'm backing him again. It's going to be tight so I'm also putting a tenner on Chelsea winning this by a single goal which is 10/3!
