>>A GOOD CAUSE World Food Programme (WFP). I got to know this project because my girlfriend works there, and it's been four years now, so I have an idea of what they do and what a great support they are for people, especially in Africa.
>>A FANTASY I'd love to have the chance to fly a Boeing 747.
>>A STARK REALITY When me and my girlfriend went to South Africa on our holidays two or three years ago and we went to visit a village in Lesotho with the WFP, we had the chance to realise how different life is there. The children, how they grow up there compared with here, it is unbelievable! They're just happy to have mud houses and a piece of bread.
>>FIRST PENALTY SAVE Professionally, it was 1993probably. I was on loan to ateam called Como and we wereplaying against Massese. Wewere winning 1-0 and in the lastminute they had a penalty and Isaved it. The following day in thenewspaper they were all talkingabout me. It was my first experienceof that because it was my first year as aprofessional away from Milan.
>>I PLAYED WITH HIM First of all,Gianfranco. The chance to play with him and be his team-mate, both inside and outside the football pitch, has been a fantastic experience. But when I was young, Marco van Basten. I was very young so I didn't have the same kind of relationship as I have with my teammates now, but training with him was a great thing. He was a fantastic player - very strong and powerful - and a fantastic touch.
>>FIRST CAR At first I shared the family car, but my first was a Golf GTI.
>>A COACH I've had so many goalkeeper coaches, I have to thank them all. I've always been able to learn good things from them. The one that probably gave me the most in terms of advice on and off the pitch was Giorgio Pellizzaro, because it coincided with my best moment at Chelsea.
>>FIRST TROPHY The Scudetto with Milan in 1991/92 probably.
>>FIRST MISTAKE I stole my brother'scar when I was 16!I wanted to see mygirlfriend at the time, she was living outsideMilan. I couldn't drive, butI did it two or three times. Then I smashed the back ofanother car and my familyknew. It was a big pain!
>>HEARTACHE In football, losing the 2002 FA Cup Final to Arsenal. In normal life, the loss of my grandmother two months ago.
>>I COULD HAVE BEEN A CONTENDER When I was a kid I wasplaying a lot of tennis and footballas well, and in the end I had to choose between the two. I think if Idid choose the other way I couldhave been a good contender. After Iinjured my wrist playing football, Ihad to change the way I play tennis,so I only play sometimes.
>>GOAL OF THE MONTH Didier's winner at Reading. It was important and it was a great finish.
>>SAVE OF THE MONTH Hilario when we were playing four-a-side in training. I threw the ball to Mikel and he shot but Hilario flicked it on to the bar. It was an important save because we lost.
>>ASSIST OF THE MONTH Kalou to Malouda in thefirst game at home to Birmingham.
>>QUOTE OF THE MONTH Diarra! He's lucky that he went to Arsenal because otherwise I would have killed him today. He said before the Italia v France game that Italians are cheaters and divers! I don't know what he was thinking.
>>MUG OF THE MONTH I asked Alan Barrett (players' assistant) a favour and he took my car but when he got back I saw him walking towards me with a really sad face. And he starts: 'I'm sorry, Carlo, I'm sorry.' I say: 'What happened?' And he says: 'A big lorry smashed your wing mirror.' I was more sorry for him because you could see he was really worried. It was my fault because I leant him my car. But he can borrow it again. I understand!
