>>A HERO My Dad. He taught me life generally. He showed me to keep fighting for something if you want it, to keep going. He was a professional footballer in Congo, a midfielder like a number 10. He also played in Belgium and France.

>>A VILLAIN Often, you never know who is a bad person. A bad person is like a snake. They get you in trouble and sometimes you never know about it. All my life I have come into contact with them, but it just makes me stronger. I like people who are positive, who have good energy.

>>A GOOD CAUSE Me and Lilian Thuram are fighting for children who go to war in Africa. In many countries there the government put children on the front line to fight and I think it is criminal that this happens. We are working with Amnesty International, we are ambassadors for them. (www.controlarms.org)

>>A FANTASY To have the power in my hands to help people who need more. People need food, medicine, good intentions, not always needing money, just something to make them happy and give them some hope.

>>A STARK REALITY Sometimes when I travel abroad I see sad things in countries. I'm thinking, 'God I'm really lucky I live somewhere where I can have everything.' I have been to Romania, Africa, where people work hard in bad situations. I'm really lucky I have a good job, my family has money, we eat well. We have to enjoy the life we have.

>>FIRST GOAL When I was young I used to play as a striker. I was very good back then. It was like an obsession for me, and when I didn't score I used to cry! I used to dribble past five or six players and score when I was only 12 years old, like Pele!

>>I PLAYED WITH HIM I once played a charity game with Dragan Stojkovic , he was one of the mbest players ever. It was the first time I had ever seen a player with such skill and such charisma. After the match he came to talk to me and later on, when I played for Real Madrid, I told him how important he was for me as a player.

>>FIRST CAR A Mazda Cabriolet, a convertible! I loved that car. It was expensive, but I didn't care, I needed a convertible.

>>A COACH Jean-Claude Suaudeau at Nantes. He knew everything about football and he put Nantes at the top of football. He was a hero of mine when I was young.

>>FIRST TROPHY When I was 17 or 18, I was playing in Paris and I won the best college player in France.

>>REASON TO BE PROUD My son and my daughter, they always make me happy.

>>HEARTACHE I had a big accident in my Ferrari when I lived in Spain and it was destroyed. I'm very lucky to be alive.

>>I COULD HAVE BEEN A CONTENDER Before I played football I used to do karate as well. My uncle is a professor of karate.

>>GOAL OF THE MONTH Salomon Kalou's second goal at Hull City. It was good for him to score and I hope it means he goes on to get more goals over the weeks and throughout the season.

>>ASSIST OF THE MONTH Pizarro made two great assists for Salomon and Sidwell at Hull.
