Sourced from the Chelsea FC home matchday programme: Chelsea FC v Everton, 08.01.2008

>>A HERO All the British Army boys fighting for us abroad. They're all heroes.

>>A GOOD CAUSE The Teenage Cancer Trust. It's something I've been involved in for a while now. It's a great cause and I know first hand what a great job it does for young kids with cancer.

>>A BAD DEAL Any time I buy a computer gadget which I always think I'm going to use and never do!

>>A FANTASY To live on the beach and wake up next to the ocean with my family one day when I've finished playing football. Somewhere with sun and sand on my doorstep, with the kids and the Missus.

>>A STARK REALITY Obviously the kids at the Teenage Cancer Trust. I've also seen a couple of Army boys who have come back from Iraq who are Chelsea fans, they've lost limbs. That puts everything into perspective.

>>FIRST GOAL The first goal I remember was an own goal when I was about five. My first training session, I got the ball in space and couldn't believe my luck, put it away and then realised I'd scored an own goal! It still sticks in my head.

>>I PLAYED WITH HIM Gianfranco Zola. He stands out still as the best player I've played with, the best professional and the best of men. I learned so much from him, especially on the training ground.

>>FIRST CAR A blue Fiesta SI. That must have been a good sign for the future.

>>A COACH My dad for all the extra coaching he gave me as a young kid to get me where I am.

>>FIRST TROPHY For West Ham in the youth team, I scored the winning penalty in a shoot-out at the Bridge. Another sign for the future, my first silverware at the Bridge - with many more to come.

>>REASON TO BE PROUD It's got to be my two kids. They make me as proud as anything.

>>FIRST MISTAKE Moving out of home when I was 17. After two or three days I realised I couldn't live without my Mum's cooking, tidying up and general looking after me. I thought I'd made a huge mistake. I moved back for a short period until I found the courage to move out again. I still made numerous trips home, though!

>>HEARTACHE The three semi-finals in the Champions League and the quarter-finals in the World Cup.  They were all difficult, but all part of being in the top end of football.

>>I COULD HAVE BEEN A CONTENDER FOR Cricket. I used to play for Essex and if I'd have stuck with it I could possibly have played for Essex and maybe England.  I was a bit of an all rounder but more of a batsmen.  I played against Andrew Flintoff, I think, I'm 90 per cent sure it was him, a big blond kid for Lancashire running in.  I also played against Alen Tudor and a few others.

>>GOAL OF THE MONTH Alex at Middlesbrough. I think we might see a few more of them.

>>SAVE OF THE MONTH Petr from Mido at Middlesbrough, a great reaction save.

>>ASSIST OF THE MONTH Scott Sinclair's two for my first two goals against Leicester. It was great to see him getting down the line and getting crosses in.

>>TACKLE/INTERCEPTION OF THE MONTH Paulo Ferreira made a lot against Manchester City, tackles and interceptions. He's the new Roberto Carlos.

>>MUG OF THE MONTH Our physio Dave Hancock, because he won't have a telly in the physio room which we've had for two years. And he's constantly missing!
