PRE-MATCH BRIEFING: CHELSEA V LIVERPOOL

CHELSEA STATS
The Blues have won ten of our last 12 Barclays Premier League games at Stamford Bridge. Arsenal's win at Stamford Bridge three weeks ago was our first home league defeat since Liverpool won here 2-0 on 6 February.

It was also only our sixth home league defeat in 144 games stretching back nearly eight years which averages one loss every 24 games.

We ended our run of nine league games without a clean sheet at Blackburn although we are still to complete a shut out in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge this season.

Our last home Premier League clean sheet was in the rain against West Ham in April eight games ago.

Frank Lampard's winner at Blackburn was his 177th for the Blues and his 11th headed goal. He is now 16 goals away from our second highest all-time scorer Kerry Dixon.

Their last top-flight win was in the old First Division over 21 years ago when a points total of 79 was enough to lift the trophy in 1990.

Liverpool's last piece of silverware was the 2006 FA Cup when they defeated West Ham on penalties at the Millennium Stadium.

Only Newcastle (eight) have conceded fewer than Liverpool's 10 goals. The Reds boast the third best defence away with only five goals conceded in five games.

Liverpool have won nine points from 15 away from home this term with wins at Arsenal, Everton and West Brom and defeats to Stoke and Tottenham.

They are unbeaten in eight games in league and cup since the 0-4 defeat at Tottenham on 18 September.
