Chelsea Football Club is delighted to confirm we will be returning to Bangkok this summer, on the first stage of our 2013 Here to Play, Here to Stay tour of Asia.

Chelsea's first team last visited Asia in 2011, and will return to play in the Singha 80th Anniversary Cup against the Singha All-Star at the 48,000-capacity Rajamangala National Stadium on Wednesday July 17, which will act as a celebration of our global beer partner's 80th anniversary.

Following that game, we will play further matches in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on July 21, and Jakarta, Indonesia on July 25.

During the trip two years ago, we beat a Thai representative side 4-0 at the same venue, and the tour helped prepare the squad for a season that culminated in Champions League and FA Cup glory.

As well as helping us reach an ever-growing fan-base in Asia, this summer's trip will also provide a lasting legacy in the region through our Here to Stay, Here to Play campaign.

A Chelsea FC Soccer School, incorporating a Blue Pitch, was opened in Bangkok in July 2012. The School hosted our youth team during their mini tour of the region in 2012 and is where local coaches trained by coaches from the Chelsea Foundation in London provide expert grass-roots coaching for children. This facility followed similar projects in Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur, destinations we also visited in 2011.

BangkokChelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay said: 'I'm very pleased that we will be returning to Bangkok.

'South-east Asia remains home to an ever-growing and passionate Chelsea support, and it gives me great pleasure that we will again be able to experience the wonderful hospitality of our Thai followers. I am also delighted to be able to support our great partner Singha Beer in their 80th anniversary year.

'We remain dedicated to our philosophy of improving football in the region and this summer's tour will give us the opportunity once more to make an important contribution to young people's lives and leave a lasting legacy after we return home.'

Piti Bhirom-Bhakdi, executive director of the Singha Corporation, added: 'We at Singha are proud to be a part of Chelsea's 2013 tour. As your host for the match in Thailand, Singha will also be celebrating its 80th Anniversary so it would be an ideal opportunity for Thai fans to take part in this historical event with the current European Champion and FA cup holder.

'I am certain that this summer's tour of Chelsea in Thailand will be a very memorable and successful one.'

Chelsea also has dedicated local language websites, not just in Thai but also Chinese, Bahasa Indonesia, Japanese and Korean, while our Twitter and Facebook feeds are also translated for use in these territories.

Our only previous visit to Thailand before 2011 was in 1997, when Ruud Gullit's FA Cup winners beat a local representative side 1-0.

Since opening in 1998, the Rajamangala Stadium has hosted various huge concerts and events, most recently staging motor racing's Race of Champions in December, won by the German team of Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel.
