Our Patron and Life Member is Chelsea FC legend Ron Tindall OAM, who now lives in Perth.In the 2008 Champions League final between Chelsea and Manchester United, about 50 of our members turned up at the Karalee Tavern to watch this game. Nothing unusual about that, except the match was shown at 2:30 in the morning, and we had to arrange a "Special Licence" to serve drinks. It was a great night and very emotional, and Chelsea were very unlucky not to bring home the Champions League trophy that year. The Supporters Club arranged another special licence at the Karalee Tavern for the 2012 Champions League final between Chelsea and Bayern Munich, which was also shown at 2:30 am. We had about 40 people turn up and I'm pleased to say that the result went our way this time. A very emotional night for everyone there, and the rest they say is history. |
