Asian Football

Chelsea's ground-breaking Asian Star programme is the only initiative of its kind undertaken by a professional football club and is designed to give a much-needed boost to Asian participation at all levels of the game.

Players from Asian backgrounds undertake a series of specifically designed tests followed by small-sided matches competing for a chance to train for a full season at one of our Foundation Development Centres, at either Cobham, or one of the surrounding areas. Since the 2008/09 season, seven players have gone on to sign for professional clubs' academies.

The scheme is not just about finding the next superstar, it is also about breaking down barriers, showing Asian players that opportunities at all levels of the game do exist and encouraging them to maximise their potential. Chelsea also invite managers, coaches and scouts from clubs at all levels of the game to identify talented youngsters and information is on hand for Asian players to find local clubs in their area.

To register your interest in Asian Star please email and we will let you know when applications open.
