NEXTGEN SEMIS TAKE SHAPE

The Chelsea Under-19 side learned on Wednesday evening the identity of two teams who join them in the semi-finals of the NextGen Series.

The young Blues squad booked a place in the last four with a convincing win over Juventus on Sunday, and there will be further representation from England in the European tournament for this age group with Aston Villa beating Olympiacos at home 1-0.

However Tottenham who also played at home went out. Despite scoring a very late equaliser to make it 3-3 at the end of normal time, Spurs lost 5-3 to Sporting Lisbon after extra-time.

The fourth quarter-final takes place on Monday with Arsenal hosting CSKA Moscow at the Emirates.

The semi-finals, the third/fourth place game and final all take place in Como in Italy between Friday 29 March and Monday 1 April.
