Enterprise & Entrepreneurship
Enterprise and entrepreneurship at the Chelsea FC Foundation is at the core of our educational delivery. Whether we are engaging school children in their first experience of enterprise or helping a job seeker progress from Job Seekers Allowance onto the New Enterprise Allowance, in order for them to start their own business, the Foundation provides a platform to explore entrepreneurship.
By using the powerful business model of Chelsea FC (including hotels, catering and retail), we are able to bring business to life and inspire our learners to innovate and cultivate ideas through a modern-day business approach and collaborating in a lean and efficient way to get them started.
The Edge of the Box Club is for job seekers who are looking to start a business, local start-ups and businesses who care about start-ups. The Edge of the Box Club provides a platform where start-ups can address problems and find solutions through collaborative innovation. The start-up club provides innovation workshops to help businesses, guest speakers and opportunities to build the right networks. We regularly attract over 125 start-up businesses each month and are considered one of the most important early start-up clubs in London.
The Chelsea Entrepreneur Programme works with job seekers who are looking to start a business. This is an incubator for business ideas to develop and grow. The programme covers key areas such as finding the perfect customer, market research, financials, pricing, social media, building a brand, marketing and sales. This is a partnership with Ixion Holdings who deliver the New Enterprise Allowance across the whole of London. We also encourage the mind-set of customer, customer, customer and the lean start-up. This is a superb learning experience that enables you to think and act like a start-up. Learners achieve a level 2 qualification in Enterprise and the Entrepreneurial mind-set.

Business Finance Training – Over 80 per cent of start-up businesses fail because of a lack of financial awareness and planning. We offer a level 1 Accountancy qualification to further support our learners to achieve a sustainable business. The qualification focuses on the basic knowledge required to manage your business, including essential accounting procedures, mathematics for accounting, accounting in a professional environment and creating business documents. This can be a pathway from the Chelsea Entrepreneur Programme or as a stand-alone qualification for learners.
