Chelsea FC Foundation Futsal Club was formed in 2016 and played in the Surrey FA Futsal Fives League before gaining entry into the FA Futsal National League structure for the 2017/18 season.

Originally created as an exit route for Futsal College Programme players from St Joseph's College in Norwood, south London, the first team squad now contains a mixture of experienced Futsal players from Spain and Brazil as well as home-grown Futsal players from England including a former England international footballer.

The team train twice a week at St Joseph's College, Upper Norwood, and play fixtures on Sundays. Their home venue of The Sennocke Sports Centre at Sevenoaks School will host seven league games. Please click to access the fixture list for the National Futsal League.

Chelsea FC Foundation Futsal Club also has a development team that competes in a regional Futsal Fives league and acts as a feeder to the first team, to bridge the gap between college futsal and senior futsal. They train once a week and play in competitive fixtures once a week.

Chelsea FC Foundation have now entered their fifth season of the EFLT Education & Futsal Programme, with 30 scholars currently working towards a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport. The learners receive their education based at St Joseph's College, Upper Norwood, and have four training sessions per week at the college, which include video analysis and strength and conditioning sessions.

Chelsea FC Foundation currently have two futsal teams in the EFLT National Futsal League and one in the EFLT Development League. The course also offers students the chance to gain their FA Level 1 football and futsal coaching badges, as well as potentially gaining employment opportunities within the Foundation itself, for those wishing to pursue a career in coaching.

The 2015/16 season was a successful season for the Blues, Both A and B teams narrowly missed out on qualification for the National Finals, while the C team took the South East Division 4 title on the last day with a hard fought 3-3 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion. Two futsal scholars were also selected to represent Chelsea FC Colleges against Yokohama FC and AFC Wimbledon.

2016/17 has also been a successful year for the Blues, with the A team reaching the latter stages of the Kinder Sport Futsal Cup and the B team reaching the National Finals for their respective division. This is in addition to two scholars repeating the feat of two of their colleagues the previous year in being selected to represent Chelsea FC Colleges.

In recent years, many students from the Chelsea FC Futsal College Programme have progressed to top universities, and three former Chelsea FC scholars have gained international recognition in Futsal, and two players have also attended England under-19 Futsal camps.

The Junior Futsal Development Centre was created in 2016 and provides elite Futsal coaching to students at St Joseph's College. The Futsal Development Centre was formed to create a natural pathway for students entering the school aged 11 and staying until they are eligible to join the Futsal College Programme at 16.

In each school year, 15 of the best football players are selected to attend the JFDC and train one hour per week in futsal. All players receive Chelsea FC training kit, and train to a futsal syllabus that focuses on the three strands of futsal coaching; in possession, out of possession and counter-attacking.

All squads compete in the Surrey FA Futsal Cup in their respective age groups with the Under-16s also competing in the EFLT Kinder Sport U16 Futsal Cup. The EFL Trust has decided to incorporate a new Under-13s competition for the 2017/18 season, and Chelsea FC Junior Futsal Academy will take part in this tournament. Throughout the year, the squads have also played in competitive friendlies versus a number of futsal academies and development centres.
