Debut vs Manchester United, 2004/05
The pressure was on for Petr Cech on his debut as he was replacing fan favourite, Carlo Cudicini. The fans demanded a world-class performance from the youngster and a world-class performance is what they got from Cech! He kept a clean sheet on his debut to see us run out 1-0 winners on the opening day against our title rivals.
Portsmouth, FA Cup Final, 2009/10
Always a man for the big occasions, Petr Cech was vital to the Blues' FA Cup triumph over Portsmouth in 2010. He became just the third goalkeeper to save an FA Cup final penalty in normal time, ensuring Chelsea FC secured our very first League and FA Cup double!
Bayern Munich, Champions League Final, 2011/12
Perhaps Cech’s best-ever performance came against Bayern Munich in the 2012 UEFA Champions League final, when the Chelsea defence was heavily tested on multiple occasions by the Bavarians. Saving an extra-time penalty from Arjen Robben before going on to make two more saves in the penalty shootout, Cech ensured that the Blues held aloft our first Champions League trophy. An unforgettable moment for any Chelsea FC fan!
Record Breaking Clean Sheets, 2014/15
In 2014 Petr Cech broke Peter Bonetti’s long-standing record for the most clean sheets in Chelsea FC history! Cech bagged the record-breaking 209th clean sheet against Hull City in a 2-0 victory, meaning Petr was able to set the new record in just 10 seasons.
