Indian Blues Man Of The Match - Leicester City vs Chelsea

We asked our Indian Blues who they thought deserved to be named man of the match vs Leicester as we reached the FA Cup semi-finals for the 10th time in 19 years!

After a hard-fought 90 minutes between Chelsea and Leicester City, it was Chelsea who emerged victorious with a 1-0 win over The Foxes at the King Power Stadium to mark an FA Cup semi-final date at Wembley against Manchester United. When asked about which Chelsea player impressed them the most in this FA Cup clash, here’s what India’s Blues had to say.

Parth Sharma, Delhi

In a game when clear-cut chances were at a premium, Ross Barkley had a telling impact with a goal and a chance to double it in the dying minutes. Chelsea’s FA Cup player of the year until now.

Jaseem Ali, Palakkad

Willian was the Man of the Match for me. The Chelsea winger was all over the pitch, despite playing a full game just two days ago. Willian was one of the very few who didn't look rattled in the first half. Bagging a crucial assist to Ross Barkley for the winner, the Brazilian did his defensive duties as well, making six tackles and an interception against Leicester City.

Anurag Khetan, Delhi

The whole Chelsea side played really well, especially in the second half. Apart from Ross Barkley, Kurt Zouma impressed me the most though. The Chelsea defender didn't put a foot wrong today, did a very good job at the heart of the defence, winning every duel that he was expected to. His impressive performance landed us a clean sheet and, as a result, Leicester City’s players did not test Willy Caballero as much as they would have wanted to.

Tom Antony, Kochi

Ross Barkley is my Man of the Match. The moment he came on, Chelsea’s attacking play looked sharper against Leicester City. His forward drives and attacking intent was just what we needed from our bench. Ross Barkley is becoming one of Frank Lampard’s go-to players because of how fit and strong he is. Over the pandemic, Ross Barkley has added new dimensions to his game. At times an all-out attacker, but at times a proper box-to-box powerhouse. He truly deserved to be the scorer of Chelsea’s winner.

Yashodhan Nakhare, Mumbai

Since the restart, one player looks like he never stopped playing. That’s Christian Pulisic. The Chelsea winger has been Frank Lampard’s best player since the restart, and he clearly bossed the game last night. Forcing a spectacular save from Leicester City’s Kasper Schmeichel, and making those deadly runs throughout the game, he left us all wanting more.
