Indian Blues Man of the Match - Rennes vs Chelsea FC

After securing a place in the round of 16 following our win against Rennes in the UEFA Champions League, we asked some Indian Blues for their man of the match picks.

Kushal Mainani, Hyderabad

My man of the match is Mason Mount for our win against Rennes. Most of the credit for the first goal goes to him, winning the ball and having the vision to see the run of Callum Hudson-Odoi. He was also very impressive with his constant pressing and incredible workrate.

Mohit Santosh, Mumbai

My man of the match in the 2-1 win over Rennes has to be Mason Mount. What a delightful outing it was for him. His pressing was on point and he got into dangerous positions, setting up Callum Hudson-Odoi in sublime fashion as well.

Naitik Purani, Bhavnagar

I would go with N’Golo Kante as my man of the match. Kante came on the pitch at a crucial time when Rennes had the momentum and looked more likely to score. Our defence visibly improved with Kante’s arrival.

Maneesh Sistla, Hyderabad

Without a shadow of a doubt, I will pick Mason Mount as my man of the match pick. His involvement in our first goal epitomises him as a player - he wins the ball, gets his head up and immediately plays an effective through ball over the top. No tricks, flicks or dribbles, just hard-work and game intelligence.

Suraj Sarang, Mangaluru

Mason Mount put in a sensational performance in that traditional number eight role in midfield. Throughout the game he was sharp and eager to get involved in Chelsea's gameplay. He was also instrumental in Chelsea's first goal as he bagged a superb assist for Callum Hudson-Odoi.
