In episode six of Certified Chelsea, Billy Gilmour revealed his superstition and sent a message to our fans in India!
Certified Chelsea is a monthly show produced exclusively for Indian Blues on Star Sports & Hotstar, featuring Anant Tyagi as the host. In each episode, Anant interviews members of a supporters’ club and a first-team player to uncover unique stories about all things Chelsea.
In the segment ‘Certified Chelsea Chats’, Devang, a fan from Ahmedabad sent in a question asking how Billy felt about being compared to the likes of Xavi and Fabregas.
‘Being compared to them is very good. They were my idols!
'That’s the way I wanted to play football. I based my game around them but I have a long way to go. I’m still young and they have already done some amazing stuff in their career.’
Another Indian Blue, Jacob, from Bengaluru asked what Billy’s biggest pet peeve is as a footballer.
‘I don’t have any pet peeves but I do have a superstition I follow. Before I go on the pitch, I always touch my shin guard, do two hops and that gets me ready.’
As the conversation continued, our youngster went on to reveal that he has never tried Indian food, but that he would love to try out some recommendations from fans. Before he signed off, Billy sent a message thaking all Indian Chelsea supporters for their support.
‘I just wanted to say hello to everyone. I hope you guys can come to the Bridge and watch us play and keep supporting us. Come on, Chelsea!’
