Why U.S. Chelsea Fans are Excited for This Season

There has never been a more exhilarating time to be a Chelsea fan! Whether you are a new supporter, or have been a loyal True Blue for years, this upcoming campaign is one of the most eagerly anticipated in our history.

New Players

The Blues landed stellar signings in the truncated off-season. While many clubs have been cautious in the transfer market in this unique coronavirus year, we welcomed top-class international talent from three different continents.

Moroccan winger Hakim Ziyech, German striker Timo Werner, English left-back Ben Chilwell, Brazilian center-half Thiago Silva and, most recently, German attacking midfielder Kai Havertz were added to our glittering squad and are sure to light up the Premier League.

Christian Pulisic

But it’s a star from a fourth continent who is a U.S. fan favorite; our own attacking midfielder Christian Pulisic. Despite an injury-hit debut year, Pulisic still managed 11 goals, became the youngest Chelsea player to score a hat-trick in the Premier League and was the first American to score in the FA Cup final. We can’t wait to see what he’ll do this season.

Must-See Fixtures

We have an intriguing half-dozen league fixtures to kick off our campaign. We open with a trip to Brighton – our second visit to Amex Stadium in about two weeks, following a pre-season friendly. Then, follow that match with a mouth-watering clash against champions Liverpool at Stamford Bridge. Next, we go to newly promoted West Bromwich Albion, before Crystal Palace travel to the Bridge for the first London derby of the year. After October’s international break, we are home to Southampton, before heading to Manchester United for what is always a hard-fought battle.
