Baker loan to Owls

Lewis Baker has today joined Championship side Sheffield Wednesday on loan until May 2.

The 19-year-old, who signed a new five-year contract in August, will link up with Stuart Gray's side ahead of their fixture with Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Midfielder Baker made his Chelsea debut as a substitute in last year’s FA Cup third round win at Derby County, and was recently called up to the England Under-21 squad.

Baker won the club’s 2013/14 Young Player of the Year and Goal of the Season awards following a stylish back-heel against Arsenal in an Under-21 game and also netted the winning goal in that competition at Old Trafford.
