Guus Hiddink says youngsters Kasey Palmer and Tammy Abraham are in the squad travelling to Liverpool, while two other players are out injured.
Branislav Ivanovic and Diego Costa are the senior names unavailable. Hiddink does not expect the striker to feature again this season.
Palmer and Abraham have both enjoyed sustained success for our Academy teams. The pair recently helped our Under-19s win the UEFA Youth League for the second season running, Palmer scoring the winner in the final against PSG. Abraham found the net in last month’s FA Youth Cup final success, having done likewise last term, too. If they feature at Anfield it would mark a professional debut.
‘We take Kasey and we take Tammy,’ Hiddink reported.
‘Ivanovic is out with a groin problem, Costa with a hamstring problem is out. I think he will be out for the weekend too.
‘Pedro is not out but has broken his nose, not in training but at home - I don’t know what happened! He had a little accident on his own. His wife was not involved, she was here and I asked her!
‘He very unfortunately fell and broke his nose. He trained today.’
