Blues cruise

Antonio Conte’s side were in action this evening in Austria as we beat local team Atus Ferlach 8-0 in a behind-closed-doors friendly.

The game gave Conte the opportunity to provide certain members of his squad with valuable minutes and it was Loic Remy who opened the scoring following good build-up play between John Mikel Obi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

A deflected Mikel strike and Remy’s second, a fierce drive from outside the box, made it 3-0 to the Blues at half-time.

There were six changes at the break as some of the players who joined up with the squad this week were introduced and one of those, Michy Batshuayi, scored with his first touch after Loftus-Cheek’s strike was parried into his path.

Another substitute, Pedro, scored twice, with Batshuayi adding his second in between the Spaniard’s strikes. Remy then completed his hat-trick, and the scoring, from an impressive Cuadrado delivery in what was a productive outing for the Blues.
