Blues receive Hollywood treatment at Hublot extravaganza

Antonio Conte and the entire Chelsea team enjoyed an evening to remember at Sony Pictures Studios on Thursday, courtesy of Hublot.

Our global watch partner laid on a glamorous night at one of LA’s most iconic locations, the site of filming for movies Ben-Hur, The Wizard of Oz and Singin’ in the Rain and modern TV classics Jeopardy! and Breaking Bad.

Arriving at the event in a specialised blue London bus, the players mingled with guests and posed for pictures, with Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois, Oscar and Willian leaving their footprints in true Hollywood Walk of Fame style in cement casts to be auctioned off for charity.

Among the fun were a number of photo opportunities with London icons, including Royal Guardsmen, a black taxi cab and a food menu including fish and chips.

Music was provided by celebrity DJ Kiss, an ambassadaor of Beats by Dr Dre, who kept the crowd and players engaged until it was time for the team to get back on the bus to rest before Friday’s training session and flight to Michigan.

The event also served to unveil the Classic Fusion Chronograph Chelsea FC– Hublot’s first official Chelsea timepiece - to an American audience, and was a part of their Hublot Loves Football campaign.

Earlier in the day the players had trained in the morning heat before cooling off at the UCLA pool. Then, there was an afternoon off to relax and unwind after the exertions of beating Liverpool on Wednesday night. New boy Michy Batshuayi is clearly settling in well to the group, with the squad spending the day together close to the team hotel.
