Willian and Gary Cahill were full of praise for the team after we maintained our 100 per cent start to the season with a 3-0 win over Burnley.
It was a dominant Chelsea display, with Eden Hazard, Willian and Victor Moses on target, and a fourth consecutive win in all competitions, as well as a first clean sheet of the season.
Willian, who made it 2-0 shortly before half-time, said the desire to work together as a team was a key factor.
‘It was a great game, a great performance and we did a great job,’ said the Brazilian. ‘We’re just happy to win. It was my first goal of the season and I hope I can score more.
‘If we play together with the ball and without the ball we have a great chance to win more games and we have to continue in that way.
‘The manager gives confidence to the players with the way he talks to us and he’s doing a good job.’
Cahill, who made his 200th Chelsea appearance, echoed his team-mate's sentiments with regards to the overall display.
‘It was a very convincing win, I felt we played well from start to finish and totally dominated the game,’ he said. ‘Burnley got a fantastic result last week so they were in high spirits and full of confidence but we totally dominated the game and it was a great result before the international break.’
The defender went on to explain why there has been such a significant turnaround in fortunes from last season, giving credit to new head coach Antonio Conte.
‘We’ve added one or two quality players which is great but predominantly it’s the same players from last year, and when we won the league the season before.
‘The main thing for me is how fit and sharp we look, and the organisation in terms of where players need to be. I felt like last year we were all over the place at times. We’ve got discipline, we’re organised and we look fit. I’m in the best condition I’ve been for a long time.
‘The manager is adamant about the way he wants to play and that’s what everyone has to buy into. If everybody pulls in the right direction, nine out of 10 times you’ll succeed. The fitness and nutrition, things that people probably don’t see, is vitally important, especially in this league.’
