Nathaniel Chalobah has today joined Watford on a permanent transfer.
A Chelsea Academy product who joined the club at the age of 10, Chalobah was a key figure in the reserve squad that won the national league championship in 2011, and he was captain of the side that lifted the 2012 FA Youth Cup.
He was previously on loan at Watford when the Hornets reached the Championship play-off final in 2013.
The midfielder established himself as a member of Antonio Conte’s squad last season. The 22-year-old made 15 appearances in all competitions and picked up a Premier League winner’s medal, notably setting up Victor Moses’s goal against Leicester early on in our famous 13-game winning run.
At international level, Chalobah has represented England at every level from Under-16 to Under-21, and was a member of this summer’s European Championship squad before injury cut short his participation.
We would like to thank Nathaniel for his service to the club and wish him all the best for the future.
