Lewis Baker has signed a new five-year contract at Chelsea and will continue his development with Championship side Middlesbrough having moved to the Riverside Stadium on a season-long loan.
Baker made his Chelsea first-team debut in an FA Cup tie at Derby County in 2014. He is also an FA Youth Cup and Under-21 Premier League-winner with our Academy.
The 22-year-old midfielder has spent the past two seasons on loan at Vitesse Arnhem where he impressed and helped them win the Dutch Cup in April.
A regular for England Under-21s at this summer’s European Championships, Baker was also part of the Chelsea squad which travelled to China and Singapore for our recent summer tour and featured in matches against Arsenal and Bayern Munich.
