Hazard: Heading north with confidence high

Eden Hazard has epitomised our excellent recent form and the Belgian star is hopeful for more of the same when we travel to Anfield tomorrow.

Hazard has scored three goals in our past two games, both 4-0 victories, and there is no let-up for him or his team-mates as we travel to Liverpool for another away game. This one is a little closer to the home than the 5,000-mile round journey that was needed to reach Baku in midweek.

‘It was a long trip, we were back in London at 3 or 4 in the morning, and we are playing on Saturday so the time between the two games is very short,’ Hazard noted. It is a point his manager has emphasised this week.

‘But we need to adapt. We didn’t adapt well against Man City so we need to do better tomorrow for sure.

‘A couple of players didn’t play on Wednesday. I played only 60 minutes, N’Golo also came off. We can be fresh tomorrow even if the game is close. We are professionals and we can deal with this. We will do everything to recover.

‘I’m feeling good,’ added Hazard. ‘I am 100 per cent. After injury sometimes you are not feeling 100 per cent, but I am ready to play every game. Of course when you are winning games it does help. Confidence is high. We are playing well at the moment, we want to keep playing like this and keep winning games.’

The star man for Liverpool so far this season has undoubtedly been Mohamed Salah, and Hazard revealed he is still in touch with the Egyptian from their time together at Stamford Bridge.

‘It’s always good to play against a friend. It is good to have friends in this world, because in football you can’t have a lot of friends.

‘When you are not playing in one club you need to go. All the players want to play. In this period, we had me, Willian, Oscar, Juan Mata also, so for him it was not easy, but he is a top player. We know the quality he has.

‘You need a chance, and I remember he took his chance at Fiorentina, and I am just happy for him.’
