The teams: Chelsea v Manchester United

Mateo Kovacic and Alvaro Morata are restored to the starting line-up for today’s game as Maurizio Sarri makes two changes to the side which started at Southampton last time out.

The Croatian midfielder comes in for Ross Barkley, who drops down to the bench, to form a midfield trio alongside Jorginho and N’Golo Kante, while Morata, a scorer in his last two appearances for the Blues, replaces Olivier Giroud up front.

Elsewhere, Toni Rudiger, who pulled out of the Germany squad during the international break through injury, is passed fit and continues his partnership with David Luiz in the centre of defence.

Eden Hazard, the Premier League’s Player of the Month for September, and Willian will support Morata in attack.

Former Chelsea players Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata and Romelu Lukaku all start for the visitors.

Kepa; Azpilicueta (c), Rudiger, David Luiz, Alonso; Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic; Willian, Morata, Hazard.
