Checkatrade Trophy opponents drawn

Our development squad team will face Peterborough United at home in the last-16 stage of this season’s Checkatrade Trophy.

The game against the League One side will take place in the week commencing 7 January.

The competition is one for EFL League One and League Two clubs, plus an additional 16 invited sides from Premier League and EFL Championship clubs with Category One academies.

Joe Edwards’ side reached this stage by beating AFC Wimbledon’s senior side on Tuesday at Stamford Bridge, having come through a group stage containing Plymouth, Newport and Swindon.

This is the third year we have contested the Checkatrade Trophy. We reached the semi-finals last season where we went out on penalties against Lincoln.
